Baseball Recap: Marquette University Takes a Loss

Marquette University fell victim to Muskego and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Hilltoppers have suffered since May 13, 2024.

Marquette University has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Muskego, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-7.

Looking ahead, Marquette University will venture away from home to square off against Greendale at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Muskego, they will square off against Wauwatosa East at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Red Raiders will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight.
