Softball Recap: Avon Lake Comes Up Short

Avon Lake came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 13-3 to the Avon Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-3 on April 10th.

Sammy Cracas made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Avon Lake dropped their record down to 4-10 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Avon, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Avon Lake will take on Steele at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. The last four games the Comets have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Avon, they will challenge Strongsville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
