Basketball Recap: Foresthill Takes a Loss

After flying high against Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning last Thursday, Foresthill came back down to earth. The Foresthill Wildfires were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 60-59 to the Victory Christian Vikings. The Wildfires were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Victory Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ben Milward led the charge by putting up 18 points. Luke Smith was another key player, posting 16 points.

Foresthill's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Victory Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Foresthill will welcome Encina at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Victory Christian, they will host John Adams Academy Rsvl/Lin at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Victory Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.7 points per game this season.
