The Mount Miguel Matadors are taking a road trip to challenge the Foothills Christian Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mount Miguel is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
Last Friday, Mount Miguel beat Castle Park 9-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Matadors.

Easton Sanchez made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Angel Delgado, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Mike Yancy also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Mount Miguel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .514 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Foothills Christian might've scored the first runs on Saturday, but it was Chula Vista who claimed the real prize. Foothills Christian fell 6-3 to Chula Vista.
Foothills Christian saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jr Merino, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Trevor Cochrum was another, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
The victory got Mount Miguel back to even at 2-2. As for Foothills Christian, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Foothills Christian's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mount Miguel hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .381. It's a different story for Foothills Christian, though, as they've only averaged .215. Will they be able to contain Mount Miguel's hitters?
Mount Miguel came up short against Foothills Christian in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, falling 10-6. Can Mount Miguel avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
