Softball Recap: Knott County Central Comes Up Short

Knott County Central extended their losing streak to five on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 12-17 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Estill County Engineers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 10-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

As for Estill County, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games.

For Estill County's part, the team relied heavily on Peyton Henderson, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Henderson a new career-high. Madi Rose was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As of now, neither Knott County Central nor Estill County have any future games scheduled.
