Basketball Recap: Herlong Takes a Loss

Herlong was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 23rd straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Burney Raiders, falling 64-40.

Burney's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from James Fields, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 18 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Germaine Maldonado, who went 8 of 15 on his way to 19 points and four steals.

Herlong's record now sits at 0-8. As for Burney, with the victory, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Herlong will welcome Loyalton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Burney will take on Plumas Charter in a holiday battle at at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
