Basketball Recap: South Granville Victorious

South Granville won the last time they faced Northern Durham and Braeden Greenup did his part to make sure it happened again. The Vikings blew past the Knights 87-65 on Thursday for which the team can thank Greenup, who went 14-for-25 on his way to 37 points and seven rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of South Granville's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Traveon Hayes, who posted 11 points along with seven assists and three steals. Hayes is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least three every time he's taken the court this season.

The win got South Granville back to even at 3-3. As for Northern Durham, they dropped their record down to 2-4 with the defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.

South Granville and Carrboro will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on the 19th. As for Northern Durham, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Felton Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will be up against the Galaxy's rather soft defense (which has allowed 71.83 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
