Basketball Recap: Ida Baker Comes Up Short

Ida Baker was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a 66-48 bruising from the LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-46 last Tuesday.

LaBelle was led to victory by Arrie Davis Jr. and Giovanni Beaver. Davis Jr. dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds, while Beaver went 5 of 12 on his way to 18 points and five steals. With that strong performance, Davis Jr. is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Damion Santamaria was another key player, putting up five points and seven steals.

Ida Baker's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for LaBelle, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.

Ida Baker will welcome Fort Myers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fort Myers has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 200 points over their last three matchups. As for LaBelle, they will head out to face off against Faith Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. LaBelle is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.7 points per game this season.
