If Community School of Davidson was riding high fresh off their 49-7 takedown of Lincoln Charter last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spartans and the Corvian Community Cardinals were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but the Spartans suffered a 29-28 defeat. The Spartans' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Community School of Davidson's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ty Sigler, who threw for 318 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 12.7 yards per attempt, and Sam Mack, who picked up 88 receiving yards and one TD.

Corvian Community found their leader in freshman Tyson Douglas-Brown, who threw for 215 yards and two touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground.

Community School of Davidson's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-4. As for Corvian Community, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Community School of Davidson will host Langtree Charter Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 41.75 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Corvian Community, they will be playing at home against Christ the King at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
