Recap: Cedar Key Sharks vs. Meadowbrook Academy Mustangs
This season hasn't been kind to the Cedar Key Sharks, who are still winless after their 11th match. They were the victim of a rough 52-30 loss at the hands of Meadowbrook Academy on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Cedar Key has suffered since November 28, 2023.
Meadowbrook Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gaige Daugherty, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Jared Frontanes was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with four steals.
Cedar Key bumped their record down to 0-11 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Meadowbrook Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
