Baseball Recap: Winnfield's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After losing to Lakeside the last time they met, Winnfield decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Winnfield Tigers came out on top against the Lakeside Warriors by a score of 13-10 on Friday.

Winnfield let Daniel Luke Page and Daniel Martin run wild. Page scored two runs while going 4-for-5, while Martin scored three runs while going 3-for-5. Martin is becoming a predictor of Winnfield's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-7 when he doesn't). Dalton Powell also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Winnfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Winnfield's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-7. As for Lakeside, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.

Winnfield will face off against North DeSoto at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Winnfield is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Lakeside, they are taking a road trip to face off against Grant at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
