Softball Recap: Carlmont Takes a Loss

Carlmont fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Hillsdale on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 10-5 to the Fighting Knights. Scots fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Fighting Knights since on Tuesday.

Grace Stiefel was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Daniella Smit, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Carlmont's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Hillsdale, they now have a winning record of 4-3-1.

Carlmont wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-0 loss against Saint Francis on the 27th. As for Hillsdale, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 1-0 defeat against Burlingame on the 27th.
