Basketball Recap: Covington Extends Winning Streak to Three

Covington waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 34-29 W against the Munford Cougars. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 36-23 win back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Covington to victory, but perhaps none more so than TaKyra Boddie, who went 8 of 12 on her way to 18 points and five rebounds. Boddie's evening made it eight games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Londyn Brown, who went 5 for 9 to rack up 12 points.

Covington's victory bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Munford, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

Covington didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 73-48 win against Craigmont on the 4th. Munford has also already played their next game (against Raleigh-Egypt), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
