Soccer Game Preview: Layton Christian Academy vs. Hillcrest

The Layton Christian Academy Eagles will take on the Hillcrest Huskies at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Layton Christian Academy will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Layton Christian Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Murray, who was ranked seventh at the time (Layton Christian Academy was ranked 15th). The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Spartans 2-1. That's two games straight that Layton Christian Academy have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Hillcrest kept a clean sheet against Tooele on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Buffaloes. The win made it back-to-back victories for Hillcrest.

Jesus Khalil, who's played more minutes than anyone else on the Hillcrest squad sat out for Tuesday's game. With Khalil sidelined, Hillcrest had to make some big changes to the lineup. James Jensen played for 80 minutes having averaged 42.2 this season and Hunter Hinckley got 80 vs. an average of 52.8.

The win got Hillcrest back to even at 5-5. As for Layton Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
