Softball Recap: Santa Teresa Saints vs. Branham Bruins

Santa Teresa had lost eight straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 6-19 to make it nine. They lost 10-0 to the Branham Bruins. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Saints' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Branham, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-12 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

For Branham's part, Jacque Connolly - Hojas made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched. Connolly - Hojas has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

In other batting news, CC Bonnard was incredible, going 2-for-4 with five RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Kaitlyn Douglas was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two doubles.

As of now, neither Santa Teresa nor Branham have any future games scheduled.
