Softball Game Preview: Elk Grove Thundering Herd vs. Sheldon Huskies

The Elk Grove Thundering Herd will head out to square off against the Sheldon Huskies at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Elk Grove's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Sheldon's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Laguna Creek hit Elk Grove with a four-run first inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Thundering Herd fell 8-4 to the Cardinals.

Loie Moore made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Annabel Focht, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Meanwhile, Sheldon also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Pleasant Grove by a score of 8-5.

Elk Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 15-11. As for Sheldon, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-8-1.

Elk Grove came up short against Sheldon in their previous meeting back in April, falling 5-0. Can the Thundering Herd avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
