DJ Davis continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 241 yards and three scores while picking up 10.5 yards per carry, and also throwing for 148 yards and a pair of touchdowns. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 100.1 rushing yards per game. Jeremiah Leigh was in the mix as well, providing West Craven with two TDs.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: West Craven was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 388 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.
West Craven's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Emmanuel Miller and Behn Dennison, who each picked up one sack apiece. Another thorn in SouthWest Edgecombe's side was Miller, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made eight total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Reidsville's offense rose to the challenge against a Spartans defense that boasted an average of only 14.92 points allowed on Friday. The Rams blew past Central Davidson 53-20. Considering the Rams have won nine games by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
West Craven better keep an eye on Tyson Broadway. He was instrumental in Reidsville's win, throwing for 370 yards and six touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes. Those six passing touchdowns gave Broadway a new career-high. Kendre Harrison did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 71 receiving yards.
West Craven's record now sits at 12-1. As for Reidsville, their record is now 11-2.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. West Craven has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 193.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Reidsville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 148 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
