Basketball Recap: Newport Starts Season with Win on the Road

Newport had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They took their game with ease, bagging a 71-37 victory over the Tillamook Cheesemakers. That's more bragging rights for the Cubs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Tillamook now has a losing record at 1-2.

Newport didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 67-46 win against Elmira on the 11th. As for Tillamook, they will be home for the holidays to greet Gladstone at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
