Recap: Alcester-Hudson Cubs vs. Scotland Highlanders
Even though the Alcester-Hudson Cubs have not done well against the Scotland Highlanders recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Alcester-Hudson blew past Scotland 52-19 at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Alcester-Hudson has managed all season.
Alcester-Hudson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alexis Gray, who scored 17 points along with two steals. Emma Solberg was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five steals.
Alcester-Hudson's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-7. As for Scotland, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alcester-Hudson will square off against St. Mary at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. St. Mary will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Scotland on the road again on Thursday and play against Wagner at 6:15 p.m. on January 25th. Wagner presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Scotland in South Dakota (Wagner is ranked first, while Scotland is ranked 144th).
