Basketball Game Preview: Douglas County West Falcon vs. Wahoo Warriors

Douglas County West is 0-10 against Wahoo since January of 2016 but things could change on Saturday. The Douglas County West Falcon will head out on the road to challenge the Wahoo Warriors at 2:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Douglas County West will bounce into Saturday's contest after beating Yutan, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Douglas County West snuck past Yutan with a 40-36 win on Tuesday.

Douglas County West can attribute much of their success to Addison Strong, who went 6 of 10 en route to 15 points and four steals. Bella Zach was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, Wahoo waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took down the Trojans 38-22.

Douglas County West better focus on containing Erin Golladay and Gretchen Seagren as the pair were huge in Wahoo's win. Golladay posted 14 points, while Seagren had 13 points.

The victory got Wahoo back to even at 6-6. As for Douglas County West, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-9.

Douglas County West might still be hurting after the 69-45 defeat they got from Wahoo in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Thankfully for Douglas County West, Sammy Leu (who shot 6-for-9 from long range and almost dropped a double-double on 27 points and nine steals) won't be suiting up this time.
