Baseball Recap: Bullard Victorious

Bullard had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Vidor Pirates by a score of 7-2 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Jackson Holt made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

Holt wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Foster, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Another was Dylan Fowler, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Bullard's record is now 25-7. As for Vidor, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-13.

Looking ahead, Bullard will take on Hargrave at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Falcons will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. Vidor does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
