Darrion Willies' vicious dunk attempt halted a game.

Backboard-shattering, rim-rattling dunks are less common than they once were, thanks to improvements in the design of backboards and rims.

However, every once in a while, a powerful dunk renders a hoop unusable.

It happened last year with this viral dunk, and it happened again this season when Summit (Fontana, Calif.) standout Darrion Willies tore down the rim while drawing a foul on a dunk attempt in a game against Grand Terrance.

The 6-foot-5, 150-pound senior is averaging over 13 points and seven rebounds this season. He now also leads the country in broken rims.
