Volleyball Recap: Independent Baptist Academy Comes Up Short at Home Against Martinsburg Christian Academy

Independent Baptist Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Martinsburg Christian Academy Warriors on Monday. The Kings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Martinsburg Christian Academy scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-21, 17-25, 25-17.

Looking ahead, Martinsburg Christian Academy will welcome Granite Baptist Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Independent Baptist Academy will be paying especially close attention to the Warriors' game: after the Warriors face off against Gill Grove Baptist, they'll take on Independent Baptist Academy again at 4:00 p.m. on September 15.
