Basketball Recap: Northwest's Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

Northwest came into Friday's game having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 49-37 win over the Kenwood Knights on Friday. The Vikings have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Knights, too.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Yazmine Pearson, who posted 14 points. That was a full 37.8% of Kenwood's points, marking the ninth time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. Sy?Nya Seay was another key player, putting up nine points.

Northwest's victory bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Kenwood, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Northwest wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 50-30 win against West Creek on the 21st. As for Kenwood, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-54 loss against Northeast on the 21st.
