Recap: Charlotte Orioles vs. Lakewood Vikings
The Charlotte Orioles lost against the Lakewood Vikings back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Charlotte fell just short of Lakewood by a score of 45-42. Charlotte has struggled against Lakewood recently, as their game on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Charlotte lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jaelyn Baker. Despite the final result, she scored 20 points along with seven steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Howarth, who scored seven points.
Charlotte's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Lakewood, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Charlotte won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Pennfield at 3:00 p.m. on January 27th. Pennfield is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. As for Lakewood, they will head out on the road to square off against Hastings at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
