Basketball Recap: Hickory Ridge Ragin' Bulls vs. Lake Norman Wildcats
After flying high against South Iredell last Friday, Hickory Ridge came back down to earth. The Hickory Ridge Ragin' Bulls were beaten by the Lake Norman Wildcats 76-43 on Tuesday. The Ragin' Bulls were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-21.

Ma-Kaela Gidney and Makaila Ritter certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Gidney went 7 for 15 en route to 17 points, while Ritter posted ten points. Gidney's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.
Even though they lost, Hickory Ridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 13 consecutive matchups.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lake Norman to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alexis Shehan, who went 13 of 23 on her way to 26 points and eight boards. Hickory Ridge's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-6. As for Lake Norman, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-1.
Hickory Ridge will head out on the road to square off against Albemarle at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lake Norman, they will be playing at home against Cox Mill at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake Norman is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 75.1 points per game this season.
