Basketball Recap: Skyline Eagles vs. East Leopards
The Skyline Eagles can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They snuck past East with a 56-50 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Skyline also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Skyline had a senior duo take command as Cami Groberg dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds and Lauren Johnson scored 15 points along with four steals. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Leelu Bare was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Skyline's victory bumped their record up to 5-14. As for East, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Highland the next time they take the court. East will host Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Skyline will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
