Volleyball Recap: Chesterton Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Chesterton couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Crown Point Bulldogs by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The Trojans' defeat signaled the end of their 18-game winning streak.

Tenley Davis paced Chesterton's offense, picking up 18 kills. Davis got some help from Reese Dilbeck and her 23 assists. Finally, Madison Gilliam kept Chesterton's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Bella Del Real was a one-woman wrecking crew For Crown Point. as she had 44 digs and two aces. Del Real is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 18 games she's played.

Chesterton's loss dropped their record down to 30-4. As for Crown Point, they are on a roll lately: they've won 22 of their last 24 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-3 record this season.

Chesterton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Crown Point, after both having extra time off, they and Penn will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
