Montesano and Elma are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. The Montesano Bulldogs will take on the Elma Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

On Thursday, Montesano was able to grind out a solid win over Tenino, taking the game 4-2. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Beavers: they've now won eight in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Elma). Everything went their way against Hoquiam on Thursday as Elma made off with a 5-2 win. Considering the Eagles' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Elma now has a winning record of 2-1-1. As for Montesano, they now also have a winning record of 2-1-1.

Montesano came out on top in a nail-biter against Elma when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Montesano since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
