Midland Christian extended the longest winning streak in TAPPS Division II District 1 this week by beating Grace Community, 56-0. This was the team's 11th consecutive win.
Midland Christian took down the Cougars 56-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Mason McClendon threw for 301 yards and 4 touchdowns in the win.
Ben Ashton was the best wideout in the league this week as Faith Christian fell to Parish Episcopal. Ashton racked up 6 receptions for 137 yards. Casey Wasserman helped Faith Christian's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 50 yards.
Greg McClendon's team's McClendon and Jarrod Koym led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback McClendon has thrown for 3,295 yards this season, while Koym has 45 catches for 988 yards. Brad Horner from Grace Prep leads the league in rushing with 912 yards.
Horner has rushed for 912 yards on 151 carries so far this year.
The Mustangs' Koym is only 12 receiving yards away from breaking 1,000 receiving yards this season as he enters this week's game against the the Panthers. So far this year, he has garnered 45 catches for 988 yards.
Southwest Christian made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,103 from 9,230.
