Volleyball Recap: Alcona Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Alcona duked it out with Johannesburg-Lewiston on Friday. The Tigers fell 2-0 to the Cardinals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on Friday.

Alcona's loss dropped their record down to 4-2-1. As for Johannesburg-Lewiston, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alcona will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Au Gres-Sims at 7:30 p.m. on September 4. As for Johannesburg-Lewiston, they will challenge Houghton Lake at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
