Softball Recap: Alhambra Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Alhambra, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Archie Williams Peregrine Falcons 8-7 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since April 27, 2024.

Willa Adler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and five unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 12 Ks. Those 12 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Juliana Carranza, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Brady, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Alhambra's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Archie Williams, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Alhambra has already played their next match, an 11-3 win against Albany on the 13th. As for Archie Williams, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 16-1 victory against Sonoma Valley on the 13th.
