Lampasas hadn't done well against Burnet recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Badgers skirted past the Bulldogs 3-2. The victory was nothing new for the Badgers as they're now sitting on six straight.

Calvin Phelps spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lampasas saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cory White, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Lampasas' win bumped their record up to 13-5-4. As for Burnet, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lampasas is set to challenge their familiar foe Gateway College Preparatory at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Burnet will face off against rival Taylor at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
