Softball Recap: Illinois Lutheran Extends Winning Streak to Five

Illinois Lutheran won the last time they faced St. Anne and things went their way on Monday too. The Chargers put the hurt on the Cardinals with a sharp 11-1 win. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

Lola Spada was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Azaylia Sanchez, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

The victory (which was Illinois Lutheran's fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for St. Anne, they dropped their record down to 2-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Illinois Lutheran wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-8 victory against Momence on the 6th. As for St. Anne, they have also already played their next contest, a 16-0 loss against Beecher on the 6th.
