Baseball Recap: Penfield's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Penfield came into Thursday's matchup having lost ten straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They had just enough and edged out the Greece Arcadia Titans 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Patriots have posted since April 30th.

Dom Denecke looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Penfield saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Patrick Emling, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Penfield's win bumped their record up to 6-15. As for Greece Arcadia, they dropped their record down to 4-18 with the defeat, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Penfield will head out to face off against Greece Athena at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight. Greece Arcadia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
