Football Recap: Copper Basin Takes a Loss + How To Watch

It was a proper cat-fight when Copper Basin faced off against Sale Creek on Thursday. The Cougars took a blow against the Panthers, falling 49-6. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost five in a row.

Dawson Pittman threw for 26 yards. On the ground, Nathan Spencer rushed for 44 yards and one score.

Sale Creek found their leader in freshman Jayson Booker, who rushed for 103 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Fowler, who gained 47 total yards and three touchdowns.

Copper Basin's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Sale Creek, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-1.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Copper Basin will head out on the road to take on Clay County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups. As for Sale Creek, they will challenge Innovation Academy on Friday.
