Softball Recap: Montgomery Takes a Loss

After flying high against Rudder last Tuesday, Montgomery came back down to earth. Montgomery came up short against the Lake Creek Lions on Friday, falling 16-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-0 back in February.

Montgomery has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-9 record this season. The victory keeps Lake Creek at an undefeated 21-0.

Coming up, Montgomery is taking a road trip to square off against College Station at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lake Creek, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Huntsville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Creek's pitchers better be ready for this one: Huntsville has averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
