Volleyball Recap: Meadowbrook Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Meadowbrook and Archbishop McNicholas squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Meadowbrook had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Rockets. The shutout was out of character for the Colts seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in August.

While Meadowbrook was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-22, 25-14.

Meadowbrook's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Journey Nicola, who had 15 digs and three assists, and Sommer Ginn, who had nine digs. Nicola has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last five times she's played.

With the loss, Meadowbrook broke their ten-match winning streak and moved their record to 25-3. As for Archbishop McNicholas, they pushed their record up to 26-2 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home.

Meadowbrook does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Archbishop McNicholas, they have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Buckeye Valley on the 8th.
