Tempe Prep dropped down to 15-8 on Thursday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Horizon Honors Eagles by a score of 3-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Their offense was headlined by Emily Youngs and Hazel Andersson, who picked up 17 kills apiece. They got some help from Ella Buettner and her 27 assists. Youngs and Buettner didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with two apiece.

As for Horizon Honors, their victory ended a five-match drought at home and bumped them up to 8-20. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since August 30th.

Among those leading the charge was Zoi Gordon, who had 16 digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (four).

Coming up, Tempe Prep will be playing in front of their home fans against Santa Cruz Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Horizon Honors, they will challenge Chandler Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
