Basketball Recap: Mason Classical Academy Takes a Loss

Mason Classical Academy played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Everglades City Gators, falling 42-22. The defeat continues a trend for the Paladins in their matchups with the Gators: they've now lost three in a row.

Everglades City found their leader in sophomore Olivia Demere, who went 7 for 15 on her way to 15 points and five steals. Demere has been hot recently, having posted five or more steals the last three times she's played. Gena Collins was another key player, putting up ten points and six boards.

Mason Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Everglades City, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-3.

Mason Classical Academy will host Marco Island Academy at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mason Classical Academy is facing Marco Island Academy at the right time seeing as Marco Island Academy is stuck on a five-game losing streak. Everglades City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
