It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lewis County can now relate to. They took a blow against the Nitro Wildcats on Tuesday, falling 62-34. The Minutemen's defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why Lewis County lost, don't look at Ella Pinkney. Despite the final result, she posted eight points and five boards. Pinkney has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Alexis Piggie was another key player, putting up nine points and five rebounds.

Nitro's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Karson Jones led the charge by posting ten points and eight boards. Another player making a difference was Ava Edwards, who went 5-for-9 en route to 12 points.

Lewis County's loss dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Nitro, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.

Lewis County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Nitro, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Nitro Wildcats take on Grafton Bearcats at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
