Softball Recap: Hickory Falls Short of Sharon in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hickory can now relate to. They fell just short of the Sharon Tigers by a score of 3-1 on Friday. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Hickory saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julia Witherite, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

Hickory's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Sharon, their victory was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-1.

As of now, neither Hickory nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
