Larkin won the last time they faced Elgin and things went their way on Monday too. The Royals' pitcher stepped up to hand the Maroons a 12-0 shutout. Considering the Royals have won six matchups by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The result came thanks to Jiselle Aguinaga's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Yesenia Escobar was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with two triples, two stolen bases, and five RBI. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. Ali Herrick was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one RBI.

Larkin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win got Larkin back to even at 8-8. As for Elgin, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the defeat, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.
