Volleyball Recap: Wakulla Comes Up Short

If Wakulla was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Maclay on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The War Eagles lost 3-0 to the Leon Lions on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the War Eagles in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost nine in a row.

While Wakulla was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-19, 25-20.

McKenna Peddicord paced Wakulla's offense, picking up seven kills. Peddicord got some help from Sophia Stolk and her 19 assists. Amariyah Donaldson controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Wakulla's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Wakulla will head out on the road to square off against Blountstown at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Leon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Lions' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
