Basketball Recap: Peabody-Burns Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Peabody-Burns can now relate to. They were beaten by the Hartford Jaguars 69-30 on Monday. Having soared to a lofty 59 points in the game before, the Warriors couldn't push the score so high this time.

Despite the defeat, Peabody-Burns saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jameson Miles shot 50% from the field on his way to 19 points and five boards. The match was Miles' fourth in a row with at least 16 points.

Even though they lost, Peabody-Burns smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 6.1 offensive boards per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 12.6.

Peabody-Burns has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season. The win made it two in a row for Hartford and bumps their season record up to 12-7-2.
