Basketball Recap: Chatham Central Sets Scoring Season-High Against South Davidson

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chatham Central). They breezed past the South Davidson Wildcats to the tune of 82-47 on Wednesday. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Chatham Central had a senior duo take command as Brennen Oldham dropped a double-double with 31 points and 13 boards and Reid Albright almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds. Albright has been hot for a while, having also posted three or more steals the last 40 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Luke Gaines, who posted eight points and four steals.

Chatham Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Davidson only posted two assists.

South Davidson's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ethan Peele, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Gage Underwood was another key player, putting up eight points and five boards.

Chatham Central's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-2. As for South Davidson, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-19.
