Softball Recap: St. Helens Extends Home Winning Streak to 20

St. Helens entered their tilt with Tillamook on Thursday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. They never let the Cheesemakers get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. Considering the Lions have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

St. Helens let Maddy Lahey and Addy Ellis run wild. Lahey went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Ellis went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Cai Moore, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

St. Helens' victory was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Tillamook, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

St. Helens will have a chance to go back-to-back against Tillamook: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
