Imagine Prep entered their tilt with Empower College Prep on Thursday with eight consecutive wins dating back to last season but they'll enter their next game with nine. They blew past the Empower College Prep Wolf 87-62.

Seven Howard had a dynamite game for Imagine Prep, going 10 for 19 on his way to 29 points in addition to five boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Rich Rodriguez, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards.

Empower College Prep's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cesar Kellog, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 11 points and eight rebounds. Kellog is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Oscar Gastelum, who posted seven points in addition to 11 rebounds and five steals.

Imagine Prep pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 98.5 points per game. As for Empower College Prep, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-1.

Imagine Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 77-53 win against Skyline Prep on the 6th. As for Empower College Prep, they will challenge Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Empower College Prep likes a good challenge.
