Basketball Game Preview: Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs vs. Clayton Comets

Southeast Raleigh and Clayton are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs will challenge the Clayton Comets at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Clayton took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Southeast Raleigh, who comes in off a win.

Southeast Raleigh took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Corinth Holders with a sharp 51-28 victory. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 167th, while the Pirates are ranked 530th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Clayton was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 57-52 to Garner.

Southeast Raleigh's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Clayton, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.

Southeast Raleigh came up short against Clayton when the teams last played back in January, falling 77-70. Can Southeast Raleigh avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
