Basketball Recap: Parkersburg Piles Up the Points Against Huntington

It's playoff time, and Parkersburg had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Huntington Highlanders, posting a 76-37 win. The Big Reds have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Parkersburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kennedy Porter, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 17 boards. Porter has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 11 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Audriana Medina, who went 6-for-15 en route to 17 points and four steals.

Parkersburg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in ten consecutive contests.

Parkersburg's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 16-7. As for Huntington, their loss dropped their record down to 5-16.

Coming up, Parkersburg will square off against Hurricane at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Parkersburg is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.7 points per game this season. Huntington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
